Paranormal Pop News Updates

I thought you might enjoy a taste of some of the things we talk about on The Paranormal Pop Show. Here is last week’s news update…

I’m not sure if any of you have gotten out to see the new X-Men movie – I won’t say anything, no spoiler alerts, however I did read an article on About regarding the “real” x-men. I thought in the interest of learning higher powers, saving the world or destroying the world – depending which way you go – I would share a few of these individuals.

First up is Medictron, the Healer – John D. Reese of Youngstown Ohio was about 30 years old when he discovered his powers. An acquaintance of his fell from a ladder and had severe spinal strain. Mr. Reese however for some reason was able to run his fingers up and down the man’s spine and was able to completely heal his injury.

Mr. Reese went on to heal many others in his life.

Next is The Incredible Mr. X-Ray. Koda Box was a stage performer who called himself “the man with the x-ray eyes”. While blindfolded he was able to describe objects, read notes and books and if those didn’t make you a believer he even rode a bike safely through the busy traffic of Time Square in New York – all blindfolded.

This one is a favorite oldie of mine, I’m sure you’ve heard it before as well. Mr. Lightening Man, Roy Cleveland Sullivan was a Forest Ranger in Virginia who had an incredible attraction to lightening. Over his 36 year career as a ranger he was struck seven times and survived each one.

Our final real life X-Men is Miss Nina Kulagina who became a very famous psychic in the Soviet Union in the 60’s. In films smuggled out of the country she was shown to be able to move small objects placed before her by placing her hands above the object she could slide them across the table.

I’m not sure about this one, but it keeps landing in my lap so I figured I would put it out there and see if anyone new anything about this place.

While looking for vacation spots I always try to look for opportunities to get a little ghostly action. The Shanley Hotel in Napanoch New York really promotes itself as a haunted hotel. The website looks very spooky, they do different events with Mediums and Ghost Hunts and it is just driving my curiosity nuts. Normally I jump right over places like that as I find it a bit hokey, but there is something drawing me into this one. They even have the spooky look and loads of inviting history to temp you.

Maybe I’ll just have to go and find out what it is and report back. Anyone else that’s intrigued can read more about it at or perhaps take the trip and check it out yourself.

Anyone looking for some fun around home might be able to check out some of these interesting flicks this year.

The Conjuring 2 is coming out June 10th and features Lorraine and Ed Warren helping another family plagued by evil spirits.

Incarnate is coming out September 30th and it is about a wheelchair-bound exorcist that is able to enter the subconscious minds of the possessed.

Underworld: Blood Wars comes out to continue its long awaited return with Kate Beckonsdale on October 14

Ouija is also making a return to the big screen with its second installment on October 21st.

Rings is the third installment to “the ring” with young samara who returns to terrorize with her freaky video from the dark side. She’ll be back just in time for Halloween on October 28th.

Last but not least The Disappointments Room releases December 16th and is about a mother and her young son who release unimaginable horrors from the attic of their home.

This is definitely not a complete list of all the great movies that are coming out this year. I just picked a handful to share that caught my attention.

Don’t miss Brian and I at the upcoming Paranormal Encounters event on June 25th
