It’s the last month of the year and, I think, the most hectic. I suppose it’s a good way to give the year a final bang before it’s over. While you are lost in all of the hustle and bustle don’t forget to take a few moments to enjoy December.
Enjoy December? What a novel idea – lol. Typically December weather – here at last – is not as treacherous as the deep freeze that comes in the new year. It is a time when you can still tolerate to go outside and be in the snow before nasty words like frostbite take hold of your life. It is also a very colorful month. Even if it’s covered in a white blanket of snow, many houses and streets are lit up, store fronts and parks are decorated and they are all warm and inviting even with the chill in the air. This all disappears very fast once December ends and the long grey trudge through winter begins.
Look in your local paper for events going on in your area and go check them out. Go to a Christmas tree farm, try ice skating, check out your municipalities holiday displays, have a hot chocolate outside and look at window displays. Do something you haven’t tried before, you never know you might have some fun in December and even start a new yearly tradition.
