Paranormal Pop News Update # 18
Destination America reported this week that a woman is claiming that a ghost is scaring off all the men in her life.
For 14 years, Tracy Proctor of England says she has been haunted by a “protective” monk-like figure who has ruined all the male relationships in her life. Her sons, boyfriends and male visitors flee the house in terror and she is left alone.
Proctor has lived in her home in West Yorkshire for 19 years and for a large majority of that, she has been haunted by a ghost she says moves keys, glasses and e-cigarettes while also removing the clothing from her collection of dolls.
“Many men have been driven out from my home,” Proctor said.
So far, the ghost, thought to be the Black Monk of Pontefract seems to mostly terrorize the men in her life, appearing as a black hooded figure and stomping with footsteps and other disruptions. She has had boyfriends leave and her sons don’t want to come home for the holidays.
The monk is famous in Yorkshire for having driven a family from a home and the story was made into a movie and a book. Still, Proctor has lived with the spectre for so many years, it seems she is OK with the whole thing. She says she feels the ghost is protecting her rather than haunting her.

Our friends over at “weekinweird.com” have had some exciting news recently. Greg Newkirk reported that since 2013, the Traveling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult, the world’s only mobile museum full of haunted, cursed and supernaturally-significant artifacts has been fascinating thousands of people around the world while preserving paranormal history. Now, you can join the museum and help that work continue on an even bigger scale, while getting exclusive access to rare artifacts, private events, and more.
The Travelling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult is the culmination of two-decades of explorations in the strange and the unexplained. With artifacts like the dark mirror, the idol of nightmares and a plank from the real life Amityville Horror House, the museum has quickly become the highlight of paranormal events from California to Maine and everywhere in between.
In the last year alone, the roving museum of haunted artifacts has become such a source of fascination that The Independent, one of the largest newspapers in the UK, named the museum one of the five weirdest museums to visit in 2017.
For the first time the museum has launched a special program aimed at funding several groundbreaking research projects – including a massive 3D scanning initiative – while giving members special behind the scenes access to artifact notes, unreleased evidence, and monthly shipments of exclusive goodies. Those looking to help the work being conducted can even choose to join the museum’s advisory board, which nets its own perks.
Those looking to become members can learn more about the details of each membership level and the museum’s goals by visiting the official Patreon page at www.patreon.com/paramuseum
